St Mary’s Church, Minera – Saturday 5th July with Rachael Marsh
Our next concert sees us singing in the hills. We will be performing in Minera Church on Saturday 5th July. The concert starts at 7pm and promises to be a wonderful evening of song.
The soloist for the evening is Rachael Marsh. Rachael has been an active member of many choirs in the past. She has been a member of the National Youth Choir of Wales for four consecutive years, as well as being a past member of Four Counties Choir and Manchester Harmony Gospel Choir. Having been a member of a choir since very young, it has provided her with a multitude of opportunities including the chance to perform at the BBC proms as part of a large youth chorus made up from the National Youth Choir of Wales and the BBC Chorus in the performance of Bernstein’s Mass.
Being able to explore different types of music has broadened Rachael’s horizons; however her roots remain in classical music.
The choirs she has been a part of have provided her with many chances for solo performance.
Rachael has battled for years as regards to which class of voice she is, as in one choir she might sing soprano and another an alto. However, her most recent singing teacher has classified her as a Lyrical Soprano.
This concert will be her first chance to break out as a soloist and she hopes that her love and passion for singing will shine through.
Cantorion Rhos are pleased to provide Rachael with this opportunity and wish her well in her future singing engagements. The concert also provides a trip down memory lane for one chorister who grew up in Minera and was a member of the church choir.
Come and join us as we look at the world, lead and keep the music flowing, and I’ve heard there was a secret chord. If you listen carefully, you will also hear a whale and a sparrow.
Doors open at 6:30pm and tickets are priced at £8, which includes an interval drink.
Tickets are available from Church Members, Choir Members and the Choir Ticket Secretary David Pearce on 01978 355043.
