Spring Concert to include Faure’s Requiem

Posted by Sally

We are looking forward to our next concert, which will take place on Saturday 16 April at Wrexham Methodist Church, at 7.30 pm. The first half of the concert will be a performance of The Requiem by Gabriel Fauré. In this, we shall be joined by two soloists: baritone Sam Snowden and boy soprano Arthur Hind. Sam currently studies singing with Brian Hughes and will begin a degree course in Voice at the Royal Northern College of Music in September this year. 11 year old Arthur is a senior chorister at St Asaph Cathedral and a pupil at Rydal Penrhos school.
In the second half we shall perform a variety of choral pieces, sacred and secular, from our current repertoire. We are also delighted that Lucy Bassett, one of our student assistant accompanists this year, will also play a piano solo, Notturno by Edvard Grieg.
Robert Guy, our Musical Director, will conduct and our Deputy Director Caroline Morris will accompany us on organ and piano. We look forward to seeing you. Tickets, priced £10 (£8 concessions) will be available at the door.
Tickets are available on the door or from David Pearce (01978 355043) and Glenda Kelly (01978 720084).
